Day 01

Well, technically it's Day 02 (and some of you have probably noticed that my first post was also written on Day 02), but no one's counting. Last night was my first foray into couponing, and it was pretty exhilarating (even if we left most of the coupons at home, which I will neither confirm nor deny). Okay, so we did leave them behind. But that's part of the learning process.

Publix: $68 spent, $107 worth of groceries earned! Now, most of this was due to a BOGO (buy one get one) free sale they were having for New Year's Day, BUT we did get the chance to stack a BOGO with a coupon, so we were able to get four boxes of cereal for $9, normally $5.07 each. Is this huge? Probably not, since that only comes out to 55% off, but for my first coupon experience that was pretty impressive!

My next task? Purchase several Sunday papers, since there are five sets of coupon inserts in today's paper, as opposed to the traditional two or three. I will be constructing a coupon binder per KCL's guidelines, complete with printed store policies on the use of coupons. My girlfriend and I will then sit down and clip them all out and organize them, and then we will pretend to be ready for coupon adventure number two!
